Happy New Year from Walter's Cove

We at Walters Cove Resort would like to wish everyone a safe, happy and fun Holiday Season, filled with joy and time well spent with friends and family!

It’s hard to believe that 2024 is already upon us and in no time at all, we will be out fishing the spectacular grounds in Kyuquot once again!

We are happy to report that during the first off-season the new lodge has spent in Kyuquot, it has weathered the winter storms that Mother Nature keeps throwing at us!

We are excited to introduce the newest member of our team at Walters Cove Resort. Mike Pfortmueller joined us in early November as the guy some of you have already talked to (or will hear from soon) in regard to getting us all booked up for next year!!

With 26 years in the fishing lodge industry, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge of fishing the coast of BC to us. Mike spent the vast majority of his career with Shearwater Marine Group and we couldn’t have found a better fit to join our team! Should you be interested in joining us for the 2024 season, Mike is your guy to get you all set up!

The 2024 season is filling up quickly so don’t delay in reaching out to us for any available dates! We are expecting another great season with lots of fish, as the returns along Vancouver Island have been great for the past few years. Not something the mainstream media likes to put out there but the chinook returns, especially to the Stamp/Somass, stemming from the Robertson Creek Hatchery (the biggest hatchery run on the west side of the Island) were incredible this past fall. Once the final information from DFO gets released, we will make sure that link is available to you in a future newsletter!
